The southern hemisphere’s largest food trade event, Fine Food Australia, is returning to Sydney this Sunday, the show will bring with it the biggest and best showdowns in the industry! A greatly anticipated element of the show, the competitions hosted by Fine Food Australia determine the best of the best, and put on a great display for visitors.

The sporting nature of the show’s home at Sydney Olympic Park makes the event a fitting location for the heat to rise in several kitchens in 2015 including – for the first time – at the Fonterra Foodservice Battle of the Pacific and the 2015 national final of 50th Nestle Golden Chef’s Hat Award. Both part of the exciting highlights of Australian Culinary Challenge, the competitions give chefs, trainees and apprentices the opportunity to pit their skills against each other and against the clock. The other exciting new addition, Nestlé Golden Chef’s Hat Award, Australia’s longest running culinary competition for young chefs, has this year set a new benchmark in terms of participants in the program, with the highest number of registrations ever received, so the competition – and the fun – will be fierce!

The first time competitions will add new heat to old flames including the much loved Official Great Aussie Pie Competition and for its second year, the Sausage Roll Competition, plus the National Pizza Championship, Culinary Challenge, and the ever exciting Bake Skills. Although not as overt as the on-floor competitions, another battle to determine the best is the highly anticipated new product awards, a hotly contested title. Regardless of which competition gets you hot under the collar, the excitement around each is growing as the show nears. The 2015 winners will be announced over the course of the four-day event.

Fine Food Australia is the country’s largest and most relevant food and hospitality event, showcasing everything from specialty and bulk foods, beverages, cooking and hospitality equipment and machinery, to bakery products, coffee and emerging food trends. The event offers one on one sessions with industry leaders, educational classes, demonstrations, and competitions, as well as the opportunity to build relationships, drive business, and be inspired about the industry.
