With the hashtag #BoycottGermany, twitter users called for a boycott of German products. Consumers are calling for a worldwide boycott on German products because of harsh conditions and the hard-line approach during the Greece bailout especially by Germany. The hashtag has been used more than 30,000 times since the call started.

While some call for a boycott of German products others call for a boycott of German companies. Even Panos Kammenos, the Greek Minister of Defence, retweeted the appeal. The audience holds Germany partly responsible for the economic crisis in Greece.

On Monday the Eurozone ministers have confirmed the third bailout for Greece. The country will receive about 86 billion Euro if it implements the required austerity measures. The VAT should be raised and state-owned enterprises will be privatised. Tough times for Greece lies ahead.

German businesses do not seem to be too worried about the call for a boycott. "We're taking this seriously, but there's no reason to panic. There have been such calls, time and again since the beginning of the Greek crisis. They largely fizzle out without any effect," explains Volker Treier, head of the German Foreign Trade Chamber of Commerce (DIHK) to the Spiegel.
