According to Russian customs data, Russian chicken production in 2018 was 4.898 million tons, an increase of 0.7% over 2017, an increase of 34.2 million tons and a live weight output of 6.664 million tons.

In 2018, the chicken production of Russian agricultural enterprises was 4.528 million tons, an increase of 0.9% (41.6 million tons). Agricultural enterprises account for 92.4% of all chicken production in Russia.

In 2018, the production of chicken in Russian households was 32,000 tons, down 2.2% (7,300 tons).

In 2018, the production of chicken on Russian farms was 49,900 tons, a decrease of 0.02% or 30 tons.

Russia imported 73,300 tons of chicken in 2018, 20.8% less than in 2017. Russia imports 72,700 tons of chicken from non-CIS countries, 20.5% lower than in 2017. The main supplier of Russian chicken is Brazil, accounting for 75.6% of Russia's total imports.

Russia imported 63 tons of turkey meat in 2018, a decrease of 44.2% over the same period last year. During the same period, Russia did not import duck and goose meat.

Russia exported 145,200 tons of chicken to non-tariff allies in 2018, an increase of 30.2% over 2017, of which 40.5% was exported to Vietnam. Considering trade data within the customs union, Russian chicken exports increased by 26.7% (37,000 tons) to 175,700 tons. It should be noted that exports to Hong Kong increased by 18.5 times and began to export directly to China.

By the end of 2018, Russian chicken was exported to 50 countries in the world, compared with 25 countries in early 2018.
