According to data released by the Brazilian Beef Exporters Association (ABIEC), Brazil exported 1.64 million tons of beef in 2018, totaling $6.572 billion, 8% and 11% more than in 2017, respectively, with China contributing the most. China imported 323,300 tons of beef from Brazil, totaling US$1.487 billion. The import quantum and import value increased by 53% and 60% respectively over the previous year, and it has been the largest destination country for Brazilian beef export.
