Restaurant chain Moe's Southwest Grill has signed a deal with franchise partner Ronnie Norcross, a multi-unit Wingstop franchisee, to open 17 new restaurants in Dallas and Fort Worth regions by 2020, in a bid to expand the brand throughout Texas.

The first outlet, under the plan, will open on 2121 Main Street. Norcross, 51, on 6 March. This deal contributes to the plan for 34 Moe's restaurants being built in the market.

Moe believes that the entrance into Texas is significant step, as the company is focusing on growth in the Western part of the US.

The restaurant operator noted that the timing is ideal to enter the state and will supplement other restaurant developments currently underway in Louisiana, Arkansas, and Oklahoma.

Franchise partner Ronnie Norcross said, "Texas offers a number of possibilities for Moe's and Dallas is a great starting point for people to welcome the Moe's brand."

The deal is part of Moe's strategic growth plan to increase its existing presence to a total of 800 locations nationwide by the end of 2015.
