The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends consuming 5 pieces of fruit and vegetables a day, and the more varied, the better, since each species provides different nutrients to our organism.

With this goal in mind, and seeking differentiation in the premium product market, a company from Extremadura has launched a new packaging format containing 5 of its seasonal products, such as plums, nectarines, flat peaches and pears.

"This is a format intended for wholesalers, and especially gourmet stores. We are currently selling it in Spain, as well as in Germany, France, Switzerland and even Singapore," said María González, from the commercial department of Alange Fruits, based in Alange, Badajoz, which is in the middle of its stone fruit and pear campaign.

"We came up with this unique concept with the idea of promoting the consumption of 5 pieces of fruit a day," she said. "It is not a simple task, since after the fruit's pre-sorting, we prepare the packs manually to ensure that the result is as homogeneous as possible." The format is distributed under the Alanfruits brand.
