New York health officials are reporting 19 cases of E. coli illnesses have been linked to Wegmans Organic Spinach and Spring Mix that may be contaminated with E. coli, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced.

On Nov. 2, Wegmans Food Markets, Inc., recalled approximately 31,000 pounds of Wegmans Organic Spinach and Spring Mix sold in 5-ounce and 11-ounce clam shell packages sold at retail stores in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia, Maryland and Massachusetts between Oct. 14 and Nov. 1. The salad mixes were produced by State Garden, Inc., in Chelsea, Mass.

Wegmans has removed all code dates of the product, up to and including Nov. 9, from its stores and has called all customers who purchased this product using their Shopper Club card, regardless of the code date purchased.
