Lychees are rich in vitamins, strengthen the skin, hair, and nails and also have both anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. The fruit can also aid you in weight loss. Plus, it contributes to the health of your heart, regulate your intestines, improve digestion, and strengthen your immune system.

Although they may be associated with all these benefits, lychees have caused hundreds of children to die in India over the past 20 years. Since the kids were eating lots of lychees on an empty stomach, their blood sugar levels dropped alarmingly fast, leaving them exposed to the negative effects of the fruit.

So, the best thing to do is to avoid eating more than 300 grams of lychee a day in order to avoid these negative implications. If you experience any allergic reaction after eating this fruit, or if you suffer from diabetes or hypoglycaemia, don’t eat it at all.
