Dutch nutrition fortification and protection solutions firm Vitablend has opened a new ‘state-of-the-art’ production plant in Singapore.

The facility, which will place Barentz Group-owned Vitablend closer to the growing Asia Pacific market, will produce nutritional premixes, antioxidant and functional blends, primarily for the infant and clinical nutrition industry.

"Being in Singapore is a logical step for us," said Marc Duchene, Vitablend’s general manager in Singapore.

"It fits right into our strategy of wanting to be close to our customers to develop premium and innovative protection and fortification solutions together. In the last year we saw substantial growth with our Asian customers, making it essential for us to be here."

"With this new Vitablend plant we are able to offer our customers in the Asia Pacific region tailor made protection and fortification solutions close to home," added Hidde van der Wal, Barentz Group’s chief executive.

"The premixes and antioxidant blends of Vitablend are a valuable addition to the ingredients portfolio of the Barentz Group."

Vitablend added that the advanced set-up of the new premix production lines offer 'maximum flexibility in producing complex, high care formulations containing vitamins, minerals, nucleotides and amino-acids'.
