According to the company, the product was developed after months of extensive research and trials, and is created to suit Indian tastes and sensibilities.
McCain Idli Sambar Combo Pack is made from real rice and lentils and is free from preservatives. The product, which is microwaveable or can be cooked on stove top, can be prepared in 3-5 minutes, reported Fnbnews.com.
A 360g pack consists of six pieces of Idli, and Sambar (150g). The pack is priced at INR60 ($1.16) and is available at leading frozen food retail outlets across Delhi.
With the launch of the product, the company aims to target homemakers, working women and consumers who are on the lookout for convenient snacking solutions.
McCain Foods India MD Vikas Mittal said the company is confident that the product will be a hit with the consumers, as this is the first time an Idli Sambar Combo has been launched in ready-to-cook format while retaining the authentic taste.
