Non-fried entrees, more side dish offerings, bigger shrimp and redesigned menu boards are part of the fast-food chain’s first menu revamp in 10 years.

Additions include a creamy garlic cod meal, a zesty Asian cod meal, and shrimp scampi. A larger side selection features coleslaw, fries, seasoned green beans or rice, sweet corn on the cob, and onion rings.

Additionally, the chain’s hush puppies and tartar and cocktail sauces have been improved.

“We feel certain that these new consumer enhancements have strengthened our menu for both our core and new customers by making it easier to navigate and providing more relevant menu choices,” said Charles St. Clair, chief marketing officer for Long John Silver’s.

A new advertising campaign will introduce the restructured menu over the coming months.

The menu overhaul represents Long John Silver’s first effort to revitalize its brand since changing ownership in 2011, when Yum! Brands, Inc., Louisville, sold the chain to LJS Partners, a consortium of investors and franchisees.
