Sigma Alimentos recently acquired Comercial Norteamericana S.A. (COMNOR), a foodservice marketer and distributor of value-added meat. In a press release, Sigma said the acquisition will enhance its product portfolio and strengthen its position in the foodservice segment.

Monterrey, Mexico-based COMNOR is a leading meat processor and distributor in Mexico. The company sells poultry, pork and beef, including Certified Angus Beef. COMNOR operates a USDA-certified plant in Monterrey. Additionally, it owns another plant in Hermosillo and distribution centers in Mexico City, Cancun, Hermosillo, Monterrey, Guadalajara, Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta and Leon.

The company employs 370 people and posted sales of $122 million in 2012.
