Dunkin’ Brands Group, an American doughnut company, has inked multi-unit store development agreement with existing franchise group, Sizzling Donuts, to expand its presence further in Texas.

Sizzling Donuts will open 18 traditional Dunkin' Donut restaurants and one Dunkin' Donuts/Baskin-Robbins combination outlet in communities throughout southern Texas.

The first restaurant, under the deal, will be opened in 2014 and the remainder by 2018.

Sizzling Donuts' parent company Sizzling Platter development general counsel and vice president Mitchell Lowe said, "We have a passion and loyalty for the brands and look forward to opening many more Dunkin' Donuts restaurants and Baskin-Robbins shops throughout Texas in the years to come."

Sizzling Donuts currently operates six Dunkin' Donuts restaurants in El Paso, Texas, one outlet in Salt Lake City, Utah and another in Las Cruces, New Mexico.

By the end of this year, the group intends to open a total of seven additional outlets.

At the end of fiscal year 2012, Dunkin' Brands' nearly 100% franchised business model included more than 10,500 Dunkin' Donuts restaurants and more than 7,000 Baskin-Robbins restaurants.

For the full-year 2012, the company had franchisee-reported sales of approximately $8.8bn.
