On the 28th of November, the first load of fresh vegetables with a total weight of 7.6 tons were exported to Macao from Chengdu. The vegetables entered Macau through Zhuhai Port on November the 30th. This is the first time fresh vegetables were exported directly from Sichuan to Macao.Hong Wei, governor of Sichuan Province, visited the Macao Special Administrative Region earlier this year. Back then he expressed his wish to be able to export local fresh vegetables directly from Sichuan to Macao. The project was officially launched in June 2015 and took 5 months to complete.
