Two dairies under quarantine during the investigation were released after reviews of inventories and records were completed. APHIS said no anomalies were found in feed records, and audits of feed suppliers found them to be in compliance with regulations.

Two offspring of the infected cow were found, APHIS said. One calf was stillborn, and a second calf was appraised, euthanized and sampled for BSE at the National Veterinary Services Laboratory in Ames, Iowa. The animal tested negative for BSE, APHIS said.
