Tesco is recalling a batch of Tesco Finest Belgian Chocolate Salted Caramel and Hazelnut Ice Cream, because a packaging error has resulted in a batch of this product being incorrectly filled with Orange Blossom Honey and Almond ice cream. If you have an allergy or sensitivity to almonds, do not eat this product. The Agency has issued an Allergy Alert.

The product being recalled is:

• Tesco Finest Belgian Chocolate Salted Caramel and Hazelnut Ice Cream, 500ml

• ‘Display until’: end July 2013 / ‘Best before’ end: October 2013

Tesco is recalling the above product batch, because a packaging error has resulted in it being incorrectly filled with Orange Blossom Honey and Almond ice-cream. Almonds are not listed in the allergen information, which poses a risk to those who are allergic or sensitive to almonds.

Customer notices will be displayed in stores to alert consumers to the reasons for the recall. Tesco has also informed the relevant allergy support organisations of this recall.
