US-based establishment Purity First Health Products is voluntarily recalling Healthy Life Chemistry branded health supplements over safety concerns, according to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).The products subject to the recall include, Healthy Life Chemistry B-50, Healthy Life Chemistry Multi-Mineral, and Healthy Life Chemistry Vitamin C bearing lot numbers F03Q and C02R;12-829; and E03Q respectively.
This recall has been initiated after a testing by the FDA showed that the B-50 capsules had the presence of Methasterone (schedule III controlled substance) and Dimethazine. In addition, the Multi-Mineral and Vitamin C capsules appeared to indicate the presence of Dimethyltestosterone.
These products were distributed across the nation through internet, retail and retail stores between July 2012 through June 2013.
Consumption of these recalled products may cause liver injury, increased blood lipid levels, increased risk of heart attack and stroke, masculinization of women, shrinkage of the testicles, breast enlargement, infertility in males, and short stature in children.
Consumers who have the purchased the above mentioned products are advised not to consume and return them to the place of purchase.
