Boots, a UK-based pharmacy chain is recalling its Delicious Chocolate Brownie, as the product is packed with Boots Delicious Caramel Shortbread, which contains milk.

The product subject to recall is Boots Delicious Chocolate Brownie of 68g, featuring best before date 19 November 2013 and batch code 75-30-477. No other Boots products are known to be affected.

The UK Food Standards Agency (FSA) has issued an allergy alert, adding that consumers intolerant to milk are at a risk of a serious reaction if they eat the product.

Boots has withdrawn the affected product from sale and contacted the relevant allergy support organizations which will inform their members about the recall.

In addition, it displayed customer notices in stores explaining to consumers the reason behind the withdrawal and actions they can take if they have purchased this product.

Those who have purchased the product have been advised to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
