Russian consumer protection watchdog Rospotrebnadzor has lifted ban on Lithuanian dairy product imports into the country.

As part of the gradual abolition of import restrictions, Rospotrebnadzor has canceled restrictions on Rokiskio Suris' dairy products.

In addition, the agency has lifted ban on dairy imports of another Lithuanian firm Pieno Zvaigzdes on 9 January 2014, reported The Baltic Course.

Meanwhile, import restrictions on other Lithuanian producers of milk and dairy products are expected to be lifted following the required submissions.

Rospotrebnadzor has tightened quality and safety rules on Lithuanian dairy imports after certain samples did not meet the standards of the Customs Union during September 2013.
